A high-level delegation from the University of Kufa and Iraq’s Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research visited Aljamea-tus-Saifiyah, Surat, during their recent visit to the city to present His Holiness Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin with an honorary doctorate. The delegation was led by Prof. Dr Hayder Abed Dhahad, Senior Undersecretary of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and Prof. Dr Alaa Naji Almawla, President of the University of Kufa, and included senior faculty members and academic chairs from the university.
The delegation toured Aljamea’s Science Exhibition on display during Istifada Ilmiyyah and its collection of rare books, manuscripts, and antiquities, gaining an insight into its longstanding intellectual and cultural heritage. They also visited Mahad al-Zahra for a programme of Qur’anic recitation and delivered talks to students and faculty on topics related to Qur’anic studies.
The delegation noted parallels between Aljamea’s approach to preserving its scholarly heritage while advancing contemporary academic pursuits and the University of Kufa’s own academic vision
